Dr. Lauren smith

Dr. Lauren Smith is a Board-Certified Optometrist and has been recognized as a leader in patient care since she started practicing optometry in 2015. Dr. Lauren transitioned this practice from Dr. Scott Bailey, who retired in 2018, but had a long-standing practice in the Midlothian area for over 30 years.
Dr. Smith is originally from northern Indiana, and still has family in the area. She graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree, and Indiana University School of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. Since moving to the Richmond area in 2018 she was originally Dr. Lauren Johnson, but she has met and married her husband, Stephen and is now Dr. Smith. They just welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in the summer of 2023! Dr. Lauren is thrilled to be a new mom and still works in the office full-time to take care of her patients. |

She specializes in routine eye exams for children and adults. Exams for new and established contact lens wearers as well as the treatment of eye discomforts and infections. She provides exams for the detection and management of eye diseases and medical disease that cause eye health damage, along with exams for patients on high-risk medications that can affect your vision health. Dr. Smith also offers consultations and the co-management for Cataract and Lasik.
